joe's father

He gets a call from his dad,
The voice he was hearing was quite distorted and sad,
His father told him the plane he boarded an half and hour ago is going down,
The conversation became intense and kind of insane,
They both spoke baring a certain pain,
Joe screamed dad what the hell!
In his heart Joe was hoping for it to be a prank call,
But the tension was thick enough to be cut with a sword the danger wasn’t hard to tell,
He father in a teary voice screamed,
Joe!
These are probably going to be my last words,
In about twenty minutes I might leave this earth,
His father asked Joe to forgive him,
He said I know I put you and your mother through the worst,
I know at times it felt like I was given to you guys like a curse,
Ask your mother to forgive me please,
The biggest mistake I made was sleeping with that nurse,
It might have looked like I didn’t care
Only god knew the pain I bared and I still bare,
Only god knew how long I was there,
Crying on my knees,
Nobody seen it happen your probably thinking why on earth did I confess?
Well I realised all my sins where seen by god and he was a main witness,
Joe finally jumps out his dark silence,
He screams dad don’t give up hope,
How do you expect me to take all this in?
I don’t think I’ll be able to cope,
I don’t even know what to say or where to begin,
His father interrupts,
He told him stop thinking weak and corrupt,
I am hopefully moving on to a better place,
Don’t worry you wont forget my face,
Joe screams dad!!
His father replies and tells him I have one more secrete,
Joe knew he was running out of time and said father speak it,
His dad told him he found faith and truth,
Joe curiously and worryingly asked what it was,
His dad suddenly stops screaming and calmly said am a Muslim convert,
Joe replies with a deep breath and huh?
Explaining his confusion,
His father told him,
In knowledge better we deserve,
In life better we should observe,
Joe screams dad!!
Again and again,
But he gets no reply,
All he hears is his father’s whispers,
All he heard was,
Ashahadu’an la’ilaha’ilalah’wa’ashadu’
And so the connection was broken,
And Joe stood there with his fathers last words in his head,
He stood there with tears phone dropped mother turning the keys coming in,
He looked at his mother,
Looked her in the eye’s told her dad called,
She asked what he said,
Joe? Are you ok?
And he stood there just frozen.
